Why Hydrogen Peroxide Stabilizer Matters in Textile Bleaching

Hydrogen peroxide is effective in cotton pretreatment, but alkaline conditions, temperature and trace metals can accelerate uncontrolled decomposition. A stabilizer helps keep the reaction inside a practical process window.

What does a stabilizer do?

A typical bleach bath combines H₂O₂, alkali, wetting agent, sequestrant and stabilizer. The objective is controlled peroxide consumption, not complete deactivation.

Why trace metals matter

Iron, copper and manganese can catalyze rapid peroxide decomposition. Water hardness, substrate contamination and equipment can all contribute.

Silicate or silicate-free?

Sodium silicate is cost-effective but can create deposition/cleaning issues in some systems. Silicate-free organic systems can be considered where cleaner operation is important.

What data is needed for a trial?

Share fiber/fabric type, H₂O₂ and caustic level, temperature, time, liquor ratio, machine type and water quality. ALKAPER ST-TX50 should be verified in the actual recipe.
